Description: This webinar will illustrate how exercise and nutrition work together to lead individuals to a life of resiliency and overall functional wellbeing by discussing the various physiological adaptions that occur due to exercise, how these adaptations transfer into rest and recovery, and how to supplement exercise with the proper nutrition to further enhance these adaptations. Learning Objectives: By the end of the webinar, individuals will know: - The various physiological adaptations that occur from exercise. - How exercise can help prevent many diseases. - Why rest and recovery are crucial in the adaptation process. - How nutrition enhances the exercise adaptations. - Ways to prevent overtraining and chronic fatigue. - What to eat before and after a workout. - How exercise, nutrition, and rest lead to improved exercise performance, resiliency, and overall health and longevity. Instructor Bio: Siri Pederson is a current Dietetic Intern at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She achieved her undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition - Dietetics and Master's degree in Exercise Physiology at Montana State University. She plans to continue her education after the internship by completing a PhD in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science at East Carolina University. Siri's primary area of interest is to understand the physiological adaptations that occur during exercise to create the proper nutrition regimen to optimize the adaptations, ultimately enhancing exercise performance, recovery, and longevity.
